Bardia Adventure Resort
Location and surroundings of Bardia Adventure Resort
The
Bardia Adventure Resort is in a unique location, situated on the very
edge of the Bardia National Park and it is a mere 10 minutes walking distance
from the park hq. From their own watching tower one may watch various
birds and animals in the park in the early mornings, lage evening or at
night when the animals move beyond the park boundary, wild animals are
frequently grazing on the lawns of resort at night. Each lodge is furnished
with comfortable twin beds and is complete with an attached bathroom unit.
The 14 lodges are set among a beautiful natural garden with stoned walkaways,
hammocks, secluded sitting areas where people can quietly share the day's
experiences. The central Golghar (round house) is the heart of the resort,
which has a central fireplace, a well stocked bar, an internet service
room, a restaurent which serves excellent Nepali and continental cuisine.
During the day one will be treated with a whole roster of exciting activities
accompanied by their experienced naturalists and int eh evening one will
be pampered around a warm fire and served with delicious food and drinks
to his choice.
What is 'Bardia National Park' where Bardia Adventure
Resort is situated
Bardia National Park lies in the mid-far western region of Nepal and is
only about one and half hour drive on Mahendra Highway towards west. Bardia
National Park is largest most unspoilt wilderness area (968 sq km) in
the terai. The park, a sub-tropical jungle, includes thickly forested
by trees with tracks, watch towers, several open grasslands, savannah
and riverine vegetation. The Karnali river touches the west border, whils
the Babai river cuts its course through the middle of the park. On southern
fringes are the villages of the indigenous and unique Tharu people of
western Nepal.The park is home to the largest population (per sq km) of
the exlusive Bengal tiger and there are 30 more species of other mammals,
such as bears, monkeys, civets, hyenas, wild dogs, otters, wild boar,
leopards, deer, tiger, rhinoceros, wild elephant and the black buck. Crocodiles,
masher fish and teh Gangetic dolphin cavort in the river water. There
are more than 350 species of birds including cormorants, egret, stork,
geese, jungle foul, kingfisher, horn bills plus endangered species such
as the Bengal florican, silver eared mesia and the saurus crane making
the park a true delight for bird watchers
Activities in Bardia Adventure Resort
Jungle trek:
A full day walk in the jungle with packed lunch accompanied
by our experienced naturalist abd wildlife tracker, where one is sure
to see many of the abundant wildlife in the park plus have excellent photographic
opportunities.
Jeep Safari
The comfortable four wheeled safari makes deep forays
into the jungle covering a large area of the park which ensures visitor
see the various types of forest and the wildlife abound in them.
Rafting
A full day rafting with packed lunch on the Karnali
river which runs across the park, one shall have an excellent opportunity
to view birds, river dolphin, crocodile etc. living in the river system
of the park.
Bird watching
An excellent opportunity to watch many of the 350
species of birds found in Bardia, aided by our expert bird watcher.
Black Buck tour
A full days jeep drive with packed lunch to the only
Black Buck sanctuary of Nepal.
Elephant Safari
A unique once in a life time experience and a great
opportunity to see wildlife from the top of an Asia elephant.
Churia Hill Trek
A 2 night 3 days trek to the summit of the Churia
range.
Bicycle Tour
The tour familiarizes you with the terrain, teh various
peoples, their habitats and culture of the terai.
Elephant Breeding Centre
A drive to the elephant breeding center managed by
the park
Cultural Program
A dance and cultural program performed by the Tharus
shall be another highlight of one's satya with resort

A tour to a nearby Tharu village where one will learn
and see the lifestyle of this indigenous people.
Crocodile Breeding Centre and Tharu Museum
Which are located at a ten minutes walk from the resort.
Fishing
The karnali River is an angler's paradise with its
famous Mahseer, we manage fishing trips for the interested.

Activities, all meals, accomodation, park permits,
guide fees, transfers to and rom Ambassa. Additional charges are for drinks
and transfers to and from Nepalgunj Airport.
What to bring and wear
Binoculars, flashlight, insect repellent, swim-wear,
sunhat, personal medicines, casual neutral coloured clothing and comfortable
shoes. Light clothing is needed the year round with a sweater or jacket
required in the winter months from November to March.
How to get there
By Air:
There are daily flights from Kathmandut o Nepalgunj
airport from where a jeep shall receive the visitor to Bardia Adventure
Resort for a 1 and half hrs drive to the resort.
By Road
One can reserve a private transport and reach the
resort or catch a direct bus from Kathmandu, Pokhara, Chitwan or Nepalgunj
plying on the Mahendranagar, Dhangadi or Karnali route, drop at Ambassa
from where jeep of Bardia Adventure Resort shall receive visitor.
